Toby
"The Tibster" was born on 4th December 2001. He started "big school" (infant school) in September and loves it. He's got a couple of close friends, but seems to be well liked by everyone. He's also doing well with his reading and numbers (I guess he's trying to stay one step ahead of Catherine!) His talent for pictures and drawing (usually plans or designs of machines) is growing too.
He
still loves being outside, being active, making dens, constructing things
etc. He's very interested in science and understanding the world around him; at school he proudly shows us the trees his class have looked at and where the vegitables are planted. He's a real dab hand at Lego so it's a good job he's got a box full of daddy's old bricks.
Catherine
was born on 1st April 2003. She attends nursery three days a week. It would be an understatement to say that she
really loves it. She already has a good circle of friends too.
At
home she is very much a girly-girl, wanting princess-themed and pink everything!
Saying that she is really into all things words, numbers and books at the moment. She loves her counting, and has started reading and writing with gusto.
Shes a bit of an adrenaline junkie and loves to ride her bike around the park. She attends gymnastic and "modern dance" sessions at the local gym and also does swimming lessons with Toby.
Angela
is a full-time mum, and does the job brilliantly too. Not only can she
take care of both the children all-day-everyday, she cooks all the meals,
cleans the house, and does the ironing! She is the Uber-Mother, Supermum.
Shes just started a part-time job delivering flowers for a local florist, but she also volunteers
with the NCT, acting as the local ceasearean birth counsellor (or something
like that) to help support any mothers anxious about needing or facing
a ceaserean birth. She has just passed a Psychology AS-Level (with an
A grade), and will be gearing up to complete a 10 km run sometime soon.
John
works full-time to pay the mortgage, but it also helps that he enjoys
the job he does. He started a new job in March 2005 of which the only
downside is the commute. He works from home once a week as a compromise
- something his last company refused to allow!
Before
the children were born he spent every spare minute either training or
racing on his bike. Time is tight nowadays but he gets out about three
times a week - just enough to let me eat rubbish but not gain weight.
