amazing experiences and just
watching them makes us happy. It's strange at times as you can't help
but think about William, what he would be doing, and how he would have
taken to having a brother, and now also a sister.
Even though we only
knew him through pregnancy and the few hours following his birth, it
is hard to put into words what a profound effect he has had on our family.
We
will always miss him.
Please
Note - If you run a search yourself looking for information about shoulder
dystocia, erbs palsy etc., you will more than likely be inundated with
sites of American and UK Law firms. In the last few years however more information has been making its way to the public from institues like the RCOGs. I would strongly recommened taking a look some of their documents - they have an information sheet on about shoulder dystocia (follow the Shoulder Dystocia link in the menu on the left of this page). Additionally wikipedia will have a lot to help. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence are still dragging their heals regarding how to treat diabetes during pregnacy (and will continue to do so for some time to come!), but do have guidelines for antenatal care - these are only guidelines though, so don't think you aren't allowed to ask for more!!
Feel free to e-mail us any questions.
We have learnt an awful lot about obstetric emergencies, and if you
want any information on what happened to us please ask. Some information
you want won't be easy to find. We still haven't found any one in the
UK who have been through the same experience that we have. Although
thankfully this is a good thing it would have helped us in the immeadiate
aftermath of William's death to have been able to ask questions, and
to gather information. |
